Rain, flooding, and landslides...oh my

We got over 7 inches of rain in one day. I know I live on the coast, but I am pretty sure that is uncommon. There were multiple warnings about flooding from the snow melting and the rain we were getting. Rain saturated mountainsides are pretty dangerous, and small creeks become rivers. At 6:30am this morning the secretary from my school called and said "Uh Maegan, I don't think you'll be able to make it to work today. all the roads getting here are closed due to flooding and landslides." No biggy, I got to spend a day with Reid (who is really sick). What is kind of frightening is that even if I wanted to, there was no way out of Raymond, we were "stranded". I really do not like that feeling. The road I drive to work is still closed, there were three landslides. We'll see tomorrow morning if the roads are clear. If not, there might be a very long detour I can take, which would take over an hour to get to work.

Here are some pictures Rudd took while he was at work today.
Down town South Bend (no creeks or rivers nearby)

This is a bridge over a small creek, not so small now!

This truck got stuck in the creek from the previous picture.
