Our evening snack
I have gotten in the bad habit of eating an evening snack of oreo cookies and milk. I think this started while I was pregnant because I "needed calcium" and what a great way to get a glass of milk and a few oreo cookies. I am now limiting myself to three cookies (it used to be four) and a short glass of milk and a couple nigts a week. As I was sitting in my chair eating my snack before bedtime, I could tell Reid was interested in what I was eating and wanted to taste it. I gave him a small bite of a cookie, not the filling, just the outside. Now are snacks are eaten at the table (he is too messy to let him eat the snacks in the chair with me) and we each get our own cookie and milk. Here are pictures of Reid eating our yummy snack. He is starting to feed himself with a spoon or fork, hence the fork in the pictures. I realized that if he wants to try to eat a cookie with a fork, that's fine.

More Twilight
I know it's crazy that I am so into this series. I am not sure why, but the story just grabs you. I have finished Twilight and New Moon and have started Eclipse and have to limit myself to read while I am on the eliptical machine only...Alright, I am still reading before bedtime, but am working really hard to only read for an hour in bed. I just cannot wait to see what happens next! I am so into this series that I bought the movie Twilight at Walmart today and watched it while Reid took his afternoon nap. I have to add that Rudd was totally watching the movie too, but he won't admit it! Yes it's about Vampires, but what I have read and watched so far is not really scary. Somethings are so outrageous that they are funny, like the fact that the vampire family has to play baseball during a thunderstorm because when they hit the ball, they hit it so hard that it sounds like thunder. I just think it's funny that the vampire family is playing baseball!

He's 1
This week we celebrated Reid's first birthday. Rudd, Reid and I had pizza and cupcakes on his actual birthday, March 11th. Then on Saturday, we had a party. Alot of family and close friends were here and we had a great time. We are so lucky to have wonderful people in our lives. Here are some pictures of the big day. Rudd and I got Reid a ball pit shaped like a fire truck. It didn't take him long to figure out how to get in and out all by himself. Enjoy the pictures!

the craze
I am following the craze (I am good at that) and taking the advice of some of my 5th and 6th grade students. The advice???
Read TWILIGHT!!!
I am reading it now and am almost halfway there! It is pretty good, a little juvenille, but still a good story. It is based in Forks Washington... I have been there once, and it mentions some towns that I am familiar with.
It's an easy read, and there are three more books in the series. It is nice to get back to reading every night before I go to bed, although reading about vampires right before bedtime is probably not such a great idea. It's a good thing Rudd is there to protect me and snuggle with me!
(Even though the book is about vampires- it's not scary...at least as far as I've read!)

definition of a trapezoid
How do you define a trapezoid?
Is it a four sided figure with exactly one set of parallel sides?
OR
Is it a four sided figure with at least one set of parallel sides?
If you agree with the second definition, then that means that a square, rectangle, and parallelogram are all trapezoids...
HMMM...food for thought

another mouse
My life is in disarray...I must be out of balance with mother nature. Today as I was leaving my room for lunch, out of the corner of my eye I see it...a furry ball on the floor. As I looked at it, the furball was not moving. I realized it was a mouse! I thought maybe my 5th graders were playing a trick on me by putting a fake mouse on the floor to scare me. I saw a student in the hall and asked them to see if it was a real mouse. They crawled up to it and saw that it was shaking. I tried not to freak out in front of them and calmly called the office. They said they would get someone there to take care of it. 5 minutes later, I am still in the room with a mouse. Finally, another teacher came and caught it. I am tired of mice. I think this is a sign that my life is so out of order...I don't know what to do
